San Diego Part 2: Point Loma Lighthouse

For our first full day in the San Diego area, we cabbed and bused it to the Point Loma lighthouse and Cabrillo National monument to look for the great grey whale migration (Lucy swears she spotted one, but nobody else saw it... or believed her!)

The lighthouse sits atop a lovely peak looking east to the city and west to the Pacific Ocean. We gazed out towards our next dream vacation - Hawaii! (waiting for the girls to get a little older for the lava tube adventures).

Afterwards we trekked down to Old Town for some locally made tortillas, burritos and margaritas (mmmmm....) Then Alice snuck in some authentic fudge from  the candy store, while Estelle snacked on jelly beans.

View of the city skyline.

The short lived lighthouse
(it was only in service for 36 years since it ended up in the fog too often)

Keep looking, the whales are out there.

Bus, train, trolley, cab... We took them all.

Warm and happy.

Bring me my beans!

Mint chocolate fudge - sittin' on my booster.

A little gymnastics.
