And some fairy wings for my little sister.

This evening we supped with Meme, Pepe, Janette and Dave, who were in transit through Montreal from the Dominican Republic (lucky, lucky - two weeks in a private villa) On our drive home, we were discussing their return home and that Pepe would be so happy to see his horses when he arrived. He would be happy to feed them, groom them, and maybe take them out for a ride. Alice reminded me that her favorite horse is Shilo, because she is the one that took Alice for a ride when we visited last summer. But Alice then mentioned that she would like Shilo even better, if Pepe could make her into a unicorn, because then she would be even more beautiful! So how about it Pepe?

We're Canadians

We occasionally play in the snow. When it's not too cold. And we're both not too grumpy. And nobody needs to go to the bathroom. And nobody needs a snack. And it's daytime. And we don't have to go grocery shopping. And Mummy feels like it!

Hurray for Birthday Cake!

Aren't They Lovely?

Here are some snaps from our most recent family photo shoot. And when I say recent, that of course means just last October! What with our busy lives, our photographer's bout of pneumonia, and a general sense of apprehension about the results of the shoot, we only just got them in. Turns out the pictures were just great, even though Alice was not over-enthusiastic about it. Note the special sisterly love shown in the bottom center picture - that's is the loving strangle-slash-neck hug Alice loves to bestow on Estelle!

No Earthquake Danger

The earthquake that has devastated parts of Haiti was not felt (at all) where Guy's family is staying in the Dominican Republic. They are on the far side of the island and their biggest worry now is who is making their next pina colada.

Va Va Va Versa

What with Lucy's new job, we needed a second vehicle to make pick-ups, drop-offs and Daddy-daughter days run more smoothly when Guy is home. So we invested in a new car, a Nissan Versa, which is a little sister to Big Gloria. We have yet to name the new baby, but we broke her in on a day-trip to Ottawa. We spent the chilly morning playing around at the Science and Technology museum - so the girls got to go for a ski-doo ride without the big parkas and winter gear.

Pantomime

On Sunday, Gran, Grandad, Katherine and Mummy shared the pleasure of accompanying Alice on her very first theatrical outing. We "saw" the Christmas pantomime, Little Red Riding Hood put on by the Hudson Village Theatre. Saw is perhaps a little generous... While the initial build-up and beginning of the show were great, including the chickens' interpretation of a Black Eyed Peas song. Alice quickly protested once the big bad wolf came onto the scene. We sat out the rest of the first half, played with a new friend during intermission, then watched 10 more minutes after the break. Next summer will be Aladdin, and hopefully we'll make it through the entire show.

You can come next year, Estelle.

Uncle Gareth and Auntie Lindsay were with us over Christmas time and had the pleasure and honor of taking Alice (along with Daddy) for her very first movie theatre experience. They saw The Princess and the Frog, Disney's latest in a line of highly successful merchandising-machines. Sounds like they had a spectacular time, and all the grown-ups were responsible for reminding Alice to blink every so often. We miss you guys already and can't wait for your next visit.

The Osmonds

Guy is a Rock Band superstar, but until recently was forced to play alone, since his boring wife would rather bake a cake than rock out... but now he has a couple of awesome new bandmates.

Happy New Year
