From the ground up.

Guy, Dave and Stefane got busy this weekend preparing the ground for the new deck. It was no small feat to auger the holes needed to support the structure, put the sono tubes in place, surround with gravel, and fill with cement. The job was espcially tricky since they encountered some rocky ground on the way down. Now Guy will be able to swap stories with his drillers at work! A prototype of the Canadarm? Huge arm on the delivery truck drops off the tubes and cement. The first hole (notice the raingear - we were not blessed with great weather) What... taking a break already? Are you guys unionized? Don't go too deep Guy, we're not drilling for nickel! After reading and re-reading the instructions, Stefane makes nice with the cement mixer. And where was Alice during all of this? Supervising of course!

Proud of each other.

Hats, hats wonderful hats

Is this love that I'm feelin'....?

Hanging out in my room listening to Bob Marley. Happy Friday to you too!

Demolition derby

Now that spring has finally arrived (some days are more like summer!) we are getting started on some outdoor home improvements. The big plan for the summer is a new deck. Guy got started early on Sunday morning demolishing the old deck in preparation for his dad's arrival in 2 weeks. We think helping Guy with the construction must just be an excuse to come and visit his granddaughter... Alice is looking forward to the visit as well! Too late to turn back now... Grandad Potter lends a hand... Just like the Egyptians? R.I.P. The old deck A clean slate. Alice supervising mummy hauling dirt! (no socks?!)

Party, party, party...

We were kept running around on Saturday, as Alice had a very busy social agenda. First, we attended Lea's 2nd birthday party with all of her friends. Alice had a lovely time, playing with Lea's dolls, some birthday balloons, and then eating a big piece of princess cake... (via mum of course) Later in the afternoon, we drove to the north shore to celebrate mononcle Ben's 30th birthday. There were more adults at that party (including Gran and Grandad), but there were also 3 other little girls. Alice was introduced to the wonders of Dora the Explorer (and all of her merchandise). What a gorgeous cake. And delicious too! The birthday girl Alice with her first ever birthday party goodie bag. Playing with Gran and Rosemarie and Ben and Katherine's house (it was getting late, so Alice was in her pjs already)

What a workout

As you may know, Alice and Lucy were taking a mom-baby exercise class on Tuesdays and Thursdays all winter long. Well, once the Spring session started, Alice decided she didn't much care for all those lunges and squats, and she especially disliked the pilates. Instead, we've started an outdoor stroller exercise class on Mondays and Wednesdays. There is so much more to see (when she's not napping), and the fresh air is invigorating for mummy. Not to mention the fact that on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we get to stay home to eat chocolate cake and watch Coronation Street reruns. Our workout partners Christine and Olivier are still with us. Here is Olivier in his fancy new multi-purpose stoller. So comfy!

Alice two teeth no more!

We are finally able to catch a photo of Alice's first two teeth... and now she has a new one! One of her two front teeth poked through yesterday. (for more great pics of Alice and her teeth, and the Lavergne kiddies, check out the Lavergne blog) Playing house already!

Corn on the cob!

Daddy came home from work ravenous today... He couldn't even wait until supper, and had to snack on Alice's tummy! She does look delicious though, doesn't she?

Any time now, Tweety bird...

Check out Alice's new birdhouse. Made with love by Grandad. Stand still daddy. I see a bird coming our way... This morning we awoke to a fresh, thick snowfall. The birds will have to plow through...

Thirsty?

Triple date

Christine, JF and Olivier were by for supper yesterday. Lucky kids got to chow down first, then we feasted on Guy's barbequed kebabs.

Some Alice expressions!

A 'dad expression'

... but where is my chocolate?

We had a lovely Easter Sunday at Gran and Grandad's last weekend. Too bad the easter bunny didn't make it... I have a feeling he will show up next year! Alice's beautiful party frock from Gran and Grandad B-A-N-A-N-A-S! This is bananas!

Bubbles

We're not sure what Alice found more interesting, the bubbles... OR the fact that bubbles were coming out of mummy's mouth!!! Check out my new car! Who says she has to wait until she is 16? Alice has places to get to now! All bundled up for a walk around the 'hood (extra warmth provided by daddy's tummy!)
