Empty Nest Syndrome

Where is our little girl? She's not in her crib... Oh, there she is! Sleeping in her big girl bed for the first time tonight! She was very excited to move to her big bed, and we'll let you know how it goes... (not letting go of the pacifier just yet though)

A celebration of perfect little girl-ness

Only the most doting parents are willing to fly in a top-notch french chef and his artistic partner to assist in preparing their precious daughter's birthday cake... Philippe, Guy and Sol decorating the horse cupcakes the evening before the big party. Intense concentration in creating the "palomino effect" Pascale, Agathe and Grandad (Possibly Agathe's first birthday party. She showed all the excitement a 7-week old should do) Lunch for the little 'uns. (safely chopped and sliced hot-dogs) Benjamin, we promise that next year you can sit at the big kid's table. Daddy presenting the work of art to the birthday girl. Her very own horse - a delicious equine treat. It will just have to do until she visits Pepe and Meme in a couple of weeks. Léa and Simonne patiently waiting for their turn in the jumpy-jump. Go Simonne! Two great gift success stories - princess costume and the pirate ship. More presents! Oh yeah, clothes too (Alice doesn't look impressed bu

Yard Sale Day

Of course we can't show you the frantic hubbub that is the yard sale - too busy snapping up deals (i.e. other people's junk) But here is the little one on our way over to the event. The perfect cosy gran sweater for a cool fall morning ( Great -gran, that is!)

The start of a lovely week

And a wonderful year! A cake for Alice to take to daycare and share with all of her friends on Monday. (modeled after a cupcake recipe. Thanks for the coloured fish crackers, Katherine)

And with a wink of an eye... he was gone again!

Thanks Uncle Gareth for driving in all the way from Stratford, just to celebrate my second birthday. You spoiled me with love and pressies! But please stay a little longer next time! (And bring Lindsay) Candles Cake Presents And playing

Bedazzled

Playing with jewels at Auntie Katherine's house. No, those are not mardi gras beads. Then we went out for a BIG breakfast. Have you ever seen such a big slice of watermelon? Just some lettuce and a piece of toast left. Bravo!

Helping out in the kitchen

Starting to feel like fall

After having +30 degree weather only a few days ago, we've now pulled out some long pants and sweaters. Not only that, but on our way home from the park, it was already getting dark! Halloween must be just around the corner. What would be a good costume for Alice this year... ? How about Guy? Bonus finger-painting picture!

What we do

What do you fancy?

This evening as I was putting the finishing touches on supper, it occurred to me that rather than downloading turkey and vegetable hand pies from Martha Stewart, I could have simply phoned my mum for her yummy Cornish pasty recipe. This got me wondering about when the last time was that I enjoyed this English meat-and-potato delicacy, shaped lovingly by my mum into a mini-brontosaurus (or so I thought) And so now in an effort to get you thinking, and to find out who still reads this blog... I ask you, what yummy food have you forgotten all about, that you would like to taste again? As for Alice, well she ate a lot of cucumber and cheese slices...
