Now that things have quieted down a bit with the departure of the construction crew, Alice is back to her usual routine of playing, eating, strolling, and hanging out with mum and dad. (I guess she was still doing those things while everyone was here!) Crazy weather we're having. Good thing I've got my wide brimmed hat! What are these little green trees on my tray? I caught one! Time for my pretty summer dresses!

As most new parents know, the "rules" allow only one new food for baby every 3 to 5 days. Well, today happened to be the day for Alice and so she got to try one of daddy's favorites... What? You said I could eat the whole thing... (The truth? Her new food today was soya and pear cereal!)

On Monday, Guy, Janette, Lucy and Alice decided that they needed a fun day to rest up after the weekend. We all hopped on the newly opened Laval metro and zipped down to Chinatown for some bubble tea makins' (must be tough for Janette to find in Fredericton) How nice for us suburbanites that the metro has finally reached our island! What a busy weekend we've had! Alice's pepere Rene, her matante Janette, and good pal Adam were over to help daddy rebuild the new, much improved deck. We had beautiful weather and lots of strong arms to help with the big job, thank-you very much! Janette - master spindle trimmer! Pepere took some time out to feed Alice (the peaches were good, the chicken... not so much) Alice and mummy stayed inside most of the time - making yummy meals for the crew Adam was put in charge of a very important task - finding CBC on the radio! (yes - he had other jobs as well...) Getting close to the back door means big progress Here is the happy family (Lyse, Sol, Philou: we missed you!) The deck is looking pretty good, daddy just has a little more work to finish it off on his own...

Unfortunately, Alice's grandad left town for a week,.. but just in the nick of time... Her pepere showed up for a visit to cheer her up! What a lucky girl!
