Christmas in the Bayou...

Last year's lockdown forced us to delay a spontaneous road trip to the southern US, but thanks to travel points and inexpensive electrons, we were able to grab the opportunity and head down over the holidays this year. Does it still count as a spontaneous trip if we had the idea a year ago, but only booked everything 3 days before going?!? Regardless, we had an amazing time and for a total of 5,300 km, had almost no complaining, only one minor catastrophe (flood), and not a single McDonald's meal! Imagine that.

Day 1: Montreal to Chatham, Ontario

Day 2: crossing the border at Detroit, and drive to Nashville, Tn

Day 3: Nashville Country!

Day 4: drive to New Orleans, Louisiana

Day 5: New Year's Eve in the Big Easy

Day 6: celebrating the arrival of 2023 at an alligator swamp tour!

Day 7: headed back north already to stay in Memphis

Day 8: driving through tornados to Cincinnati

Day 9: shufflin' up to Buffalo and back in the snow

Day 10: the home stretch!
