What do you fancy?

This evening as I was putting the finishing touches on supper, it occurred to me that rather than downloading turkey and vegetable hand pies from Martha Stewart, I could have simply phoned my mum for her yummy Cornish pasty recipe. This got me wondering about when the last time was that I enjoyed this English meat-and-potato delicacy, shaped lovingly by my mum into a mini-brontosaurus (or so I thought)

And so now in an effort to get you thinking, and to find out who still reads this blog... I ask you, what yummy food have you forgotten all about, that you would like to taste again?

As for Alice, well she ate a lot of cucumber and cheese slices...

I miss those asparagus roll hors d'oeuvres my mom would make by first cutting the crusts of a slice of bread, spreading some cheez whiz on it and laying a few spears of cooked asparagus on it before rolling it up and securing it with a toothpick. Broil for a bit and voila! I also miss chocolate macaroons, puffed wheat squares, and tourtière relish...

I think René and I are due to share Baked Meat Balls with Green Pea Salad. This always makes us remember our first year of marriage in our first appartment. Hamburger was a main staple on our shopping list. My Dad's porrridge would also be excellent as an evening snack served with toast and a LOT of butter!
