Fall

We are overdue. We know. The girls enjoy the updated bathroom. More photos to come once it is completed.  We had a week of 30 degree weather in mid-September, so we cranked up the pool heater and swam in the dark a few times (rare occurrence). Alice's birthday.  Late August camping at Oka. First day of school! Last year for Alice in primary school. Cousins celebrating Alice bday. Apple Picking.

Manitoba 2017

Dad and the girls made a trip to Manitoba to spend some time with the family. All the while Mom literally flew around the world to keep her mind busy. We had a great time and created so many magical memories. Camping at Grand Beach. Using the stage to do some grand pretending. Grand Beach was oddly vacant in the middle of the week. We took full advantage. Perfect sand for dripping. We successfully completed the corn maze without any casualties. We dug up a time capsule left by Dad some 26 years ago. The note left in the capsule. Created a new time capsule (contents undisclosed). The map is behind the historic family photo. Chokecherry picking. The resulting bounty Standing in a field of future pasta.    We made it up to Gimli and Winnipeg Beach with Meme. Henna at the Grunthal Agri Fair. Some drone flying of course.

Even More Hawaii

Our first house on the Big Island. There were about 12 geckos living in there, it kept us busy. Tunnels house. Voted Best House by us.  Sitting on some Pahoehoe laval (Cool). Lava Tube! What do you do when you don't have a hair dryer and no shower cap?  Saran Wrap, obviously.    Dry cave looking out.  Luau ladies shaking their stuff. Amazing!  Fire Dude, swinging his thing. Black sand beach small planet. Kileaua Iki Crater, small planet. Tunnels Beach

More Hawaii

Akaka Falls, Tallest in the USA. Another example of a stop which looked far more interesting from the Drone's perspective. Rainbow from the balcony. The dry, cave. Very unnerving for those of that know something about rock support... That is a WIDE span! The best Metal Detecting finds on the trip: a silver ring, a tungsten ring, two silver earrings, and some other odds and bits.  I knew it was worthwhile dragging that shovel halfway across the world. I ended up helping some other dads bury their children. The islands are big enough to have some pretty drastic climate changes, these canyons were quite impressive. While visiting the ruins of an old Club Med, we almost got trapped!
