Summer vacation

What did we get up to during our summer holiday? Scroll down for photos and more details, but here's the Coles Notes version: 1 wedding 2 candy stores 3 GPS-induced dead-ends 4 bottles of syrup 5 verses of poetry 6 antique shops 7 harbour seals 8 nights camping 9 kids movies 10 cupcakes So lovely to spend down-time as a family. Lots and lots of time with our lovely girls!

Campobello Island, New Brunswick

After the wedding, we convoyed over to St-Andrews and then took two ferries over to Campobello Island near the border between NB and Maine. René, Lyse, Sol and Janette stayed in a charming log cabin by the water, and we camped at the Herring Cover Provincial Park. What a lovely place to relax, discover and have fun. We did a lot of driving on this trip, and movies weren't the only way to pass the time. Boarding the first ferry Fog on the moors Our sinking ferry arrives How come we're the only ones on this thing? Not sure the girls would have swam in the water even if it was a bathtub though, since they kept asking us if there were sharks, crocodiles and piranhas.   How did this tree get here, Daddy? Amazingly, this was our first camping trip of the season, so we were eager to get out there to eat marshmallows, get bitten by mosquitoes, and shower semi-clean shower blocks (have you tried showering 3 people in a tiny, sandy, buggy stall without touching the moldy shower curtain wafting onto you) Does it seem like we are complaining? Well, that's part of the hilarious fun in camping.   We found a nest Alice starts a collection of egg shells (not a hardy travelling collection) Sweet and sticky They've got Timmies in the States?!? We're moving here! Train photo for Paul... A real moving train that's painted with graffiti instead of Thomas the Train's face Close up and in awe At a safe distance  Best meal of the holiday - burgers, burritos and fish tacos! Estelle noticed the squirty ketchup bottle and was very curious about it - "Some ketchu...

Emo

Alice's acting group at day camp has really paid off. Here she is showing us a range of emotions. See if you can identify any.
