Cruising

75 cents a minute for internet! Just so we dont seem like irresponsible family members (e.g. going to Kenya during civil war and not calling). We just wanted to check in and say that we are having a great time on the ship and on the beaches. Today we are at sea, crusing, eating and sunning. Goals for the day: Alice - recover from lingering cold, sneak into 2+ kids activities Guy - win at movie trivia game, sneak away from Lucy and Alice for time in the casino Lucy - keep Guy away from the Hairy Chest Competition, sneak away to buy gold chains by the inches. Love you all. Photos to come when we are back home, the internet is cheaper, and we can get comfortable in our elastic waist pants.

Eeeeeeek!

Alice loves to be chased by her dad!

Sleepover party!

Mum and dad went out for dinner and a movie on Saturday, so our lucky Alice got to have her first ever sleepover at Gran and Grandad's. The three friends had a marvelous time - spaghetti for supper, lots of toys to play with, and Jake to state at! But, boy were Lucy and Guy happy to pick up Alice (EARLY) on Sunday morning.

Merci Minimod

This weekend Alice went for a drive... in the hairdresser's chair! Our little miss enjoyed her first haircut! While the first 5 minutes were a bit uneasy, Alice then got comfortable and even honked the horn on her little car. Which was a whole lot better than some of the other little customers who shed some tears.

And the award for the biggest smile goes to...

... and more snow!

Yesterday we had yet another big dumping of snow. So this morning we got up early to shovel and go for a ride in the sled (actually, we didn't all fit in the sled) Only moments after we finished digging out the driveway, the plow went by and drove a huge snowbank in front of the entrance... grrrr... Oh well, at least we didn't need to go to aerobics class later in the day! Alice kept warm all day in the lovely, and oh-se-practical sweater knitted for her personally by Lynn Binney. This sweater is ingenious - it zips up the back to nothing bulky needs to go over a frustrated toddler's head. Still a little big, but thanks so much Lynn and Paul!

Things that happen when you're tired...

This week was a bit tough, as Guy and Lucy had meetings all week long, preceeded by a 1-day post-conference weekend (for Lucy, in Vancouver) Needless to say, we were quite zonked on this particular night, in which Alice's pyjamas were put on with a sleeve and a leg on top, and the same on the bottom. That put the crotch at the side of her tummy... Does she look like she minds?
