Almost tropical

The backyard glacier is slowly retreating... and so Guy, that means you can come home now. It must be almost as warm as the Dominican here...? Friday AM Friday PM Christine and Olivier on the train. The four of us went to the baby show downtown to scope out some goodies and to eat free kid food (We promised Alice and Olivier that NEXT year they will be able to eat the yogurt, popcorn and milkshakes...)

Forget about soccer...

When do I get to dunk? (making my daddy proud...)

Spring Fashions

Can you blame us for going shopping? It's springtime! (matching pants to come!)

You were right,

those prunes were great! (when Alice likes something a lot, she tries to go in a grab it from her mouth!) (And yes, we are aware that it is still sunny and Alice is in her pj's already. What's the big deal?!)

Strolling in the Sun

What's for lunch?

Hmmm, what is this? It doesn't look like the food mummy usually makes... Prunes!? Why are we having prunes? Well, if you think I'll like them, I'll give them a try!

I eat therefore I get dirty

If you believe in that hocus-pocus...

We looked this up the other day after someone commented that our little Virgo baby must love her routine... "Virgo babies thrive on routine and are perfectionists. Don't even think about changing bath time or breakfast -- your baby will be very fussy and upset. Virgo's are very particular about what they like and can amuse themselves for hours with a simple toy. Your Virgo baby will talk earlier than other babies. Other Virgo's include Sophia Loren and Van Morrison. " http://epregnancy.com/horoscope.html

An afternoon with the rellies

Today we went to visit Auntie Katherine and Uncle Ben. Here is Alice trying to butter Ben up to do her taxes (18 years from now!) Are you testing me Auntie Katherine? I haven't decided yet if I will be a vegetarian like you, but I certainly won't eat my friend the cat!

Spring has sprung

The magical standing shovel will soon fall... And Alice tried on her summer hat for size (still a bit big)

Stalling.

Don't go yet, daddy. Read me one more story. . . (Guy has returned to Dominican Republic for 10 days of fun in the sun. I'm sure we all look forward to more photos from the south)

Ahoy, matey

You've heard of Red Beard and Black Beard... But the most feared pirate of all is GREEN BEARD! (zucchini was strange the first time!)

Where's Alice?

Last week I learned to sit up. This week...

Standing, flying, and reading the report on mining (things are looking good)

More good times with Grandmaman

While Grandmaman was here we went to the archaeology museum in Montreal, Pointe a Calliere. The museum was built over excavated building foundations in old Montreal, and here is the gang standing in front of the Little Saint-Pierre River, Montreal's oldest collector sewer (in use until 1989!) . Are you guys trying to tell me something about my future career possibilities? . A photo for matante Janette: these "bricks" are made of wood!

Top o' the mornin' to you!

Happy Saint-Patrick's Day everyone! Do you think daddy will sneak me some green beer while mummy isn't looking? Doubt it!

Grand-maman et goodies...

Alice's Grandmaman Lyse is visiting from Manitoba. The wonderful thing about grandmothers is that they arrive with so many wonderful things - games, gifts, and of course lots of great, big hugs! Something about this nice lady reminds me of Christmas.... "This is how I used to bathe your daddy many years ago Alice" An excellent way to befriend our new little pear-eating princess Paper, my favorite! How did you know?! What a lovely dress knitted by Alice's great-aunt Paule. . Alice has just two questions: Where is pépère, and When is he coming to visit?!?! (this spring, right?)

Buckle up!

Spring has sprung and so our little angel has a new suit, and a new ride! All the kids are leaving their tags on these days (at least until mummy decides the size is right) Safety inspector Guy checks the straps. I can't move... that must mean I'm safe! Phew. This car seat is just as sleep inducing. Out for a stroll in the lovely spring weather.

Butternut squash

It's official!

High-ranking officials for Team Aluguy held an emergency meeting this afternoon to discuss the state of affairs. The outcome of the meeting was that March 10th was officially declared International Unassisted Sitting Day for all junior members of the team (i.e. Alice) While she's been siting for quite some time now, we realized that our little superstar can sit up without falling or needing support for quite a while. And she will even put out her hand for balance when needed. Of course the requisite safety net (legs or pillow) are still in use, but mainly as a precaution. We are so, so proud! Here are some snaps for proof. No, we didn't let her eat the entire Kit Kat. (she shared some with us...)
